General Terms and Conditions for Renting Bicycles

Article 1: Definitions.

In these terms and conditions, the following definitions shall apply:

- Renter: the person who rents a bicycle from the lessor.
- Landlord: Meesterknecht Fietsen V.O.F. located at Voorstraat 29 a, in Woudenberg.
- Rental bicycle: the bicycle made available to the renter by the lessor.
- Rental agreement: the agreement between the renter and the lessor for the use of the bicycle.


Article 2: Rental period

1. The rental period shall be agreed upon at the time of entering into the rental agreement.
2. The renter shall return the bicycle in good condition on the agreed date and time. If the bicycle is not returned after the rental period, the landlord may charge additional costs.


Article 3: Rent and Payment

1. The renter shall pay the rent as indicated at the time of reservation.
2. Payment shall be made immediately at the time of rental.
3. If the renter rents the bicycle longer than agreed upon, the additional rental period will be charged at the then current rate.


Article 4: Use of the bike

1. The renter is obliged to use the bicycle with care.
2. The hirer shall observe all traffic rules and legal regulations while using the bicycle.
3. The bicycle may only be used for recreational purposes or for the transport of the renter himself. It is not allowed to lend or rent the bike to third parties.
4. The hirer has to keep the tire pressure at the right level.

1. The renter is responsible for damage to the bicycle during the rental period, unless the damage is due to normal wear and tear.
2. If the bicycle or accessories are lost or damaged by the renter, the rental company may charge the cost of repairs or replacements.
3. In case of theft, the renter is obliged to report to the police and inform the rental company immediately. Being able to hand over the key is important.


Article 6: Maintenance and Repairs

1. The Lessor is responsible for providing a properly functioning bicycle at the start of the rental period.
2. In case of defects that prevent the use of the bicycle, the renter should immediately notify the rental company. The lessor will then attempt to resolve the problem.


Article 7: Cancellation and Changes.

1. If the tenant cancels the rental agreement, the landlord may charge a cancellation fee, depending on the time of cancellation. See Recron conditions.
2. Changes in the rental period can only be made in consultation with the landlord and depend on the availability of bicycles. A fee may be charged for this, also depending on the time of change.


Article 9: Privacy and Data

The landlord processes personal data of the tenant in accordance with applicable privacy laws. These data are used exclusively for the execution of the rental agreement.


Article 10: Applicable Law and Disputes.

1. These general conditions are governed by Dutch law.
2. All disputes arising from the rental agreement will be submitted to the competent court in the district where the lessor is located.
